His side of the bed is cold and unwrinkled, and it makes my throat dry with a wrenching ache as I pass my hand over the spot where his shoulder should be digging into the mattress.
I knew he wouldn’t come last night. He was too mad at me by the time we got off stage. I tried apologizing to him, calling out his name desperately, but he just dashed through the backstage area and jumped onto his bus with Marcus hot on his heels. Drew curled his thick fingers around my arm and practically dragged my sorry ass to my own bus.
I was an idiot… simply put, a jealous, stupid little idiot. I know he and Nick are only playing it up for the filthy-minded women that post on those message boards about their lusty love of those two as a couple, but it still rankled me when AJ purposely ground his crotch against Nick’s thigh… knowing I was looking! I thought that was a bit overboard.
And I really didn’t mean to bump into Nicky and make him drop his hat during All I Have To Give. I did, however, thoroughly enjoy his scramble and blushing from having to retrieve it. But, I laughed no harder than the fans did, that’s for sure.
And, yes, I did purposely kick AJ’s heel during our little back-to-back part of My Beautiful Woman. And when he turned to look at me questioningly, I did sort of slyly give him the finger alongside my microphone. Damnit, I was hurt though. Justifiable cause, if you ask me. Or so I thought at that time. Crap.
So, I get out of bed, pull my side of the blankets up so that they look as neat as his side and vow to call him with another attempt at apologizing. I probably shouldn’t do it until I have my tea though. Hopefully that will soothe the ache.
I wish I hadn’t thrown my favorite mug against the wall at 2:30 this morning. The one he made me buy. The yellow one, from his foundation.
I know I can buy a dozen more though.
